Re: Mute Group Mechanical Protection
Hi Steve,
Thanks for the nice comments. The part that I'm worried about is caulk bleeding into the buttons, and there is really not enough space around them (especially the top corners) to either mask or clear out the dribblage. I have previously made this mistake, but years ago now.
Also, since Behringer seems to be replacing defective consoles, I don't want to do anything permanent before the warranty runs out. Then I'd have to make plates again.
That is a good idea, Per, but will increase my net cost from USD$0 to an actual number. ~:-D~
I'll look around for that tape, though, as I have not been aware of clear double stick. I think it will be a nice solution.
Thanks,
Dan

Two ideas come to mind:
--Rubber cement.
--Clear silicone caulk. I don't think that the edge is too small at all. Carefully mask the top of the plate and leave a tab so that you can easily pick up the masking tape. Carefully mask around the plate...

Why not clear, double-sided tape? Comes in many strengths, some for permanent mounting and others that are easy to pry off.
