Every gig the X32 is accompanied by an Allen Mixwizard. It just sits in the trailer. But if crap hit the fan, my plan would be to run and grab it, and swap out the x32 using the 16 most important channels. That's my "backup". Haven't had to use it yet. :D~:-D~:grin:

Also on a side note. I did a show Saturday which as always, sounded killer. However when I switched on the pair of QSC RMX4050HDs for my mains, it sagged the power and rebooted the x32, causing quite a pop. I just wanted to give some a heads up. My solution in the situation will be to not have the mains feeding the amps before I switch them on, then plug them in. Other solutions would be having the mixer on a different circuit (which is always ideal) or to finally jump on a UPS. Which really, I should have. Just can't spend the $ yet.

Right now, your redundancy starts after the pre-amp of the StudioLive, which still makes you dependant upon the StudioLive.

It might be wise to take a step back and ask: “What types of failures have you encountered?” or “What types of failures are you concerned about creating redundancy for?”

Thanks Eric. In all the years I've been recording, the only failures have been with recorders. I agree with you that the further back in the chain the better however, unless the mic pres are on the stage (as is the case with my mobile), then you need a separate gain stage. If you need to mix and match the recordings... they won't. So whatever system I use, I need the backup to be as soon after the mic pre as possible.

Behringer has said in this thread (way back) that a 25ms disruption of the power source (less than 2 cycles of the 60Hz) will cause a reboot, and they ALWAYS recommend using a UPS.

New case from safecases in texas. great case with doghouse and 4" wheels. not too heavy about 60 pounds which means i can lift it if i have too. Has handles in all the right places and it vents very well. paid about 525 shipped to NY.

I've been looking to get a Maxxbass 107 for ages, no luck of course. I was wanting to include it in my install to make it easier to not disturb the neigbours. I reckon that processing everything sub 80-100 Hz will more than half the cost of the sound insulation required to get sound leakage down to a legal level and still have reasonable bass.
I have the Waves plugins, and have been thinking of installing a computer in the rack for doing the processing, but doing it all in the X32 is a viable (and free) option as long as I make the X32 a permanent part of the install (was going to use one of my old analogues for that, but ....)
The cost of a Maxxbass BCL is prohibitive for my use, and allthough buying an X32 and doing the processing with that isn't anywhere near what you can do with a BCL, it is enough for me, and I get a free mixer and cash to spare, so in my case it makes sense.

Edit: Using Maxxbass (or a copy) does of course have the added benefit of enabling my particular subs to play a lot louder (15dB worth), which is great for outdoors.

Hey I got the express version which uses slightly thinner plywood...i gig everyday but i pack my own truck so i didnt need a roadie proof case.
express version w/ 4" wheels = ATA Safe Case for Behringer x32 Express Series with Wheels x32 Road Case | eBay now 375 I got in on sale for 350
doghouse = 149.00 additional charge from safecases to add a doghouse...total 500 shipped.
not nearly as heavy as the gator case and i love it.

If using IQ net speakers off an x32, is it mandatory to have the p16 distributors or can you daisy chain the entire system and is there any missed features not having the p16d in the signal flow, as far I can see that is like a switch?
