X32 Discussion

Re: X32 Discussion

Hi again, I just got the X32 and I have to say that I really like it this far! I've just named the channels, made some basic setup and run some signals through. I will use bus 1-5 for monitors and I have tried to send signals and it works. I have to feed one monitor through a TS connector but I don't get any signal from the Aux-output. How do I access the sends for that? I haven't changed the routings from the factorypreset.

I would like to find out how to send signals from one of the channels to Aux 2 output and get the Bus 2-fader to control the Aux 2 master output.

Thank you!

Re: X32 Discussion

It's quite easy to do that.

Just feed your MixBus 2 with the channel you want, then in the "Routing" section, go to "Aux Out" tab, select the "Aux 2 Out" on the left side and "MixBus 2" on the Right side.
There you go, you're feeding you mixbus 2 through the Aux 2 Output.

Another question that may seem stupid, but is there someway to bypass the Monitor level-knob for the Master fader? I was kind of surprised that I had to turn the Monitor level up before I could get signal out from the mixer through the Master fader!

Edit: Tried to do as you said, but I can't control the monitor level from Bus 2 fader. I get signal to monitor from the channel and I can kill it by kill the channel, but it doesn't happen anything when moving Mix bus 2 fader!

Re: X32 Discussion

Are you using XLR outputs 15 and 16 for your master output, or the XLR monitor outputs on the back of the console ?
you should be using 15 and 16.

Okay, right now I'm using monitor outputs since I didn't know it was pre-configured with 15-16 as master out's! Thank you again, and if you could answer my second question here above I would be really glad! ;)

Re: X32 Discussion

Sorry, I have read alot of the pages in this thread but I haven't seen this. I will take a look at the manual, just thought this way would be faster. Thanks for the answers anyway!

Robin, I wasn't taking a personal swipe at you, it's just that these topics seem to come up often. I don't believe that you or others would willingly ignore an operators manual or discard a "getting started" guide. It makes me question if Behringer is supplying these materials to begin with.

No problem, I've found alot on youtube and google, but sometimes maybe I just got bad luck in searching but as in this example I can't find the solution,

I'm sending a channel, let's say 21 to Bus 2. In the routing I've set Bus 2 to Aux 2 output.
I connect a TS cable from Aux 2 to a monitor, and I can hear the music in the monitor when increasing channel 21 fader.
But when I touch the Bus 2 fader it doesn't affect the output of the Aux 2.
I've been looking for pre/post settings such as Setup > Config where Bus 1-8 is set to pre (Post EQ).

Would really appreciate if you have the answer, since I have to get this running before saturday! :)

Edit: If I don't find the solution I will just have to re-solder the TRS to XLR female > TRS and send it directly from Bus 2 instead of Aux 2, but I suspect that it's really easy just that I can't find the solution. Sorry for being a pain in the ass :D~:-D~

Re: X32 Discussion

Uli,

Implementing the X32 Rack so it can be used as an S16 on a remote X32 (X32 console controls X32Rack gains) but at the same time use the RACK as a monitor mixer (getting channel feeds from the remote X32)....

To complete the above idea, the development of an 8 output module would bring that x32 Rack outputs to 16.

Still like to see full EQ + Dynamics on all channels/AUX/Mix busses/Mains/ etc ala Presonus...

Thanks...

As per my earlier post to you, this would probably be your short term and long term solution. Why it's not working for you as you have it set-up,I'm not sure I'm not in fornt of my console to replicate your situation... but as you are probably aware... feeding monitor mix bus 2 from XLR output 2, probably will work right away - so fire up that iron.

Then I will stick to your solution! It seems that this never ending soldering really doesn't comes to an end... :D

Re: X32 Discussion

You need to set the source of your particular aux outputs to pre fader or post fader, and also make sure the output itself is also set to post fader (or the output master fader won't do anything)

You first must select the bus send, right side of console, bus 1-8 or bus 9-16, select bus you want. Then home button and config tab, then select under all channel sends pre configuration, the bus setup you want.

Second step is to make sure the bus output master fader is either pre or post fader, if you want the master output fader to control the output, goto routing button, aux (or analog out or whichever) and set the category(most likely mix bus) and the tap to post fader(makes the output buss fader actually control the bus output)

Hope that helps...

Re: X32 Discussion

While I strongly suggest at least rading the "Getting Started" information when using the console for the first time and take time to study the manual in some depth if one hopes to be able to make the X32 work as supposed, I would also strongly urge anyone with a problem to save their settings to a file and post that file. It is not hard, and it will enable those who want to be of assistance to pinpoint what the problem is.
If someone came on a forum and simply asked "My car won't reverse into my garage, what is the problem?" one could certainly get a lot of possible suggestions, but they might not be relevant to the actual problem at hand

Re: MIDI Footswitch

Has anyone managed to control the desk using a MIDI footswitch?

I use the desk in a band I also play bass in (no one else mixes us or uses the desk).
I'd really like to be able to mute effects, set tap delays etc. using a MIDI footswitch but haven't seen this mentioned anywhere apart from in a diagram in the manual.

I don't have a footswitch to test with & don't want to buy one if it won't work as I would like it to.

Anyone got any ideas?

Hi Pete,
Currently you can control scene changes on the X32 via MIDI.
For example, you could setup and save different scenes for each song that could each contain completely different settings, (including FX and Mutes). You could toggle through these scenes using a MIDI foot switch.
I hope it helps!
