X32 Discussion

Re: 2 X32's?

Attach cat 5 to aes50a on thier rack, attach to aes50b (or a) on your x32
Goto routing in your console and on home tab change from local 1-8, 9-16 to aesb50 1-8 etc...
Goto setup and change your sync to aesa50 instead of internal
Make sure your sample rates are the same as well.... I think that's it.

Thanks!!

Snippets?

I have a snippet question. I am trying to set up a snippet for routing the mix send outputs - sometimes I need them stereo for in-ears, sometimes I need them all mono for wedge setups. Seems like a snippet would work well for this, but I can't seem to figure out how to create that snippet. Any suggestions?

Re: Snippets?

Hi Darron,
After trying this out myself, I am finding that the easiest way to do this is to simply use a Scene. For these scenes, you will want to check every Safe EXCEPT Mix Buses. Now when recalling the scene only your mix bus settings, including linking (stereo) and your actual mixes will be recalled. If needed you could load additional scenes after choosing your mix bus configuration, just be sure to check the safe for "Mix Buses" before loading, as shown in the attached screen shot. Hope it helps!

Re: X32 Discussion

Check the Matrix Mute function.

The Mute lights do not appear to be functioning. The Mute Matrix feature works, but the Mute button lights do not.

Anyone else notice this ?

Re: X32 Discussion

I am feeding signals from a stereo source to inputs 1 and 2. I would like to link the faders of these channels but not the aux sends. There appears to be no way around this..... Aux sends 1 and 2 are sent to a discreet external stereo processor with aux 1 going to the left input and aux 2 going to the right input. When I link the two input faders, I'm not able to have aux send 1 turned off from input channel 2 and aux send 2 turned off from input channel 1. Any way to just have the input faders linked?

This is an X32 rack...

If you link auxes 1&2 they will be a stereo pair and left will be sent to one and right to the other. The encodes in the sends section will flip to being send level and pan for the linked pair.

Make aux 1 &2 a stereo aux and pan the inputs accordingly.

Thanks guys!! I linked aux 1 and 2, clicked on the "LR" tab, then linked mix buss 1 and 2 and panned them left and right since they are my aux masters. Worked like a charm. Thanks so much for the help... I was scratching my head for a while on that one. I can't imagine trying to setup/program the x32 rack without X-edit!

I have mutes showing up in the mini meters but not on the actual channels. Pretty confusing. Plus slow operation on iPad 3 with console on 2.10.

Hi Darron,

One way to create these snippets is to create two scenes with those routing requirements and save them to files. Then using the X32 Scene Parser (https://sourceforge.net/projects/x32sceneparser/), input each file (one at a time), parse the appropriate Routing section (eg Out 1-16), then make final tweaking in the Results editor. Remember that snippets only change what is included in the snippet file (opposite to safes). So if there is something there you do not want to change, remove it. Finally save these snippets as files (.snp) and import them into the X32.

Re: Snippets?

Thanks Paul. That sounds complicated - but perhaps is not as hard as it sounds. Thanks for the detailed instructions. Seems like something that would be common enough that there would be a simpler way to do it "in-board".

I have another unrelated question that hopefully someone can help me with. Where I work just ordered a new Midas M32. Will I be able to import my X32 show files into it without problem? I know they share the same "brain" but didn't know if there would be any problems swapping files between the two.

Thanks again.

There should be no issues. While not really needed I'd make sure that they were on the same firmware version though, to be on the safe side.

Re: X32 Discussion

Yes the ipad app need to be fixed it has serious issues with the mute and the send on fader mutes just keep flashing.

Whats up behringer ya guys need to test your apps better before you release then or you going to get alot of bad complaints about not testing your app before releasing them to the public..

Test before release :)
