I have an x32 on order and can't wait to receive it. Between Christian's many instructional posts, youtube videos, and other info, I feel like I wouldn't even NEED a manual anymore, lol. Please add me to the many on this board who really appreciate all the time and effort you have put into informing us on this new product. Thanks again! :)~:-)~:smile:

This is insanely awesome, I have already ordered an X32 and will probably order another because of this feature. I do have a few questions though.

First, do the 2 consoles have independent preamp control, or do they act as a master/slave like a la the venue profile desks?

Second, could I add an S16 stage box on stage, for a total of 48 inputs, and have all inputs accessible from FOH and MONS?

Third, if I didn't have a monitor engineer and wished to do MONS from FOH, could I route 6 outputs (or however many) from the FOH console to the outputs on the S16 instead of doing monitors from the desk on stage?

I have a question about scenes and patching. I know that the i/o can only be patched in blocks of 8, but can patching be recalled seamlessly through scenes? Basically I'm wondering if scenes would let me have ready access to more than 32 channels via the S16 stage boxes.

Or what is recallable through scene memory?

We have been learning a lot from you here in this forum and we're now gathering all this valuable input and will combine it with the feedback we're expecting to come in from X32 users.

Yes, you can have all channels acssessible, but you can't mix them all on the same console, as you are limited to the 32 mix channels. In a pinch, you could allways submix some channels on the monitor console and make the submix available to the FOH console, if you add an iPad or a PC you could even do that submix remotely from FOH.
Should not be a problem to have all outputs accessible from FOH as long as they are routed. Remember, the typical setup would be to plug the S16 into the "A" on the monitormixer and go from "B" on the monitormixer to FOH, thus having to route everything at the monitormixer. You could also plug the S16 into the FOH, using two CAT5 to FOH, and you would then have the routing and the control of the S16 at FOH. Lots of options depending on what you want to achieve.
Haven't seen a single mention of being able to slave one console, but you could have preampcontrol via remote iPad/PC.

Maybe someone with the access to two desks could connect and route inputs from one to the other, and then see if the preamps respond to the controls of the remote desk? It should be quickly done.

Thanks Uli and Yahooooo!!! But get someone to clean up your forum and put in some safetymeasures. Running online fora takes a bit of vigilance and some experience in the matter. Feel free to ask advice from other forummasters that have been through the same problems before, myself including.

I'm trying to avoid using a submixer.

How about this scenario: Say that I need 25 channels to mic a live band, and after the band is done I need 20 channels to mic a choir and accompaniment. Clearly there aren't enough channels to do this all at once. However, could I set up all the routing, etc., for the band as one scene and the choir as another, and simply switch between them? Basically, will the scene recall the internal patch bay, and do so without glitching or adding noise on inputs that aren't being switched (like, say a mic for an MC that's in use during the scene change)?

Ok.. that clears a few things up for me.. one more question.. with just 2 desks and no S16 would it be possible to route my auxes from FOH to the outputs on the monitor desk on stage, to do MONS from FOH?

Not suggesting a submixer as such, just utilizing both mixers and both operators. Sometimes the person at monitors can happily take on the task of creating a submix within his/her strong field, like drums or choir. Equally, submixes can be made at FOH that the monitor mixer can utilize without having access to each and every input.

Yes, AFAIK you can save everything in the scenes, my understanding is that the default setting is that every bit of the configuration is saved and recalled.
I don't know if there is or will be an option to save parts of the settings.

One caution here though; if you can't remote the preamps from what will be the secondary desk in the chain, you'll not have recall on those settings from that desk unless you recall the primary desk by remote.

Yes, as long as you route things to the AES50 you can use it anywhere

Can you please explain us more about how to use the X32 with P16? Sorry if it's been asked before. But it only receives 16 channels, right? When we have more than 16 inputs, how can we get the other channels on the monitor?
Can it also receive from a bus as a channel? Say like channel 1 for Drum Bus, channel 2 for bass, etc.?
Can you also determine if it receives a post or pre fader signal?

Props to you for this new product line Uli! X32 + 2 S16 + P16D + a couple of P16s for everybody on stage for less then 5000 €, that's unbelievable! If you guys can deliver what you've promised especially on the build quality and reliability side, this will be absolute killer! Yeah, a game changer.
